Heat thatchanges the pace

Warm stones sitting along your spine can sound almost too simple. Heat plus weight does something regular hands alone cannot quite replicate, but the setup and comfort checks matter just as much as the sensation.

01 · How the stones work

Preparation, placement, active work

Only branches with the right setup can offer this. Heating and maintaining stones properly needs specific equipment most locations do not run as standard.

01 · Heat

Smooth, flat stones, usually basalt since it holds heat well, are heated in water at a controlled temperature before the session starts.

Warm stones placed in a line along an oiled back
02 · Place

Some stones are placed directly on specific points along your back, and sometimes your palms and spine too, then left passively for a few minutes.

03 · Work

Other stones are held in the therapist's hand and worked across muscle the same way hands normally would be, except heat is doing part of the job too.

The heat itself

Heat helps blood vessels near the surface open up a bit, which can make muscle feel like it is letting go faster than it might with just hands and pressure alone. Combined with oil underneath so everything glides smoothly, it creates a sensation genuinely different from a standard massage.

Slower does not mean less considered. It means part of the treatment is allowed to sit and work.

02 · Heat, oil and pressure

Oil is still very much part of this

Oil goes down first, always, before stones ever touch your skin, partly for comfort and partly so stones glide instead of dragging. Standard oil works fine for most sessions. Some branches also offer an aromatherapy blend if you want scent layered on top of the heat itself.

Ask about the blend specifically when booking; not every location running hot stone massage stocks aromatherapy oils for it.

01

Check first

Tell the branch what areas you want addressed before the stones start heating.

02

Speak up

Your therapist checks comfort during the session; say something immediately if the heat feels uncomfortable.

03

Expect slower

Passive placement means the pacing is deliberately slower than a regular oil massage.

03 · Read this before booking

Who should skip the heat?

  • People with circulation issues
  • Anyone who is pregnant
  • Skin conditions heat could aggravate
  • Anyone who finds warmth uncomfortable rather than relaxing

Mention any of these when booking. Run hot generally or find warmth uncomfortable? This might not be for you either; flag that upfront so the branch can suggest something else.

04 · What the session looks like

Warm first, then slower work

It starts with stones heating in a warmer while your therapist checks what areas you want addressed. Stones go along your back first, sometimes left there passively while other work happens elsewhere, then picked up and used actively across shoulders and legs.

Sessions move slower than standard oil massage. A good chunk of the treatment is letting heat sit and do its thing rather than constant active movement. If you prefer fast-paced sessions, this might feel unusually slow the first time around.

60 minutes

RM130 – RM180

Back, shoulders and legs at a proper pace.

90 minutes

RM180 – RM240

More thorough coverage and more time for passive placement.

Prices run higher than standard oil massage given the equipment and stone maintenance involved. Exact number is confirmed with the branch offering this.

05 · Availability and booking

Equipment decides the map

Only branches with the specific equipment for heating and maintaining stones can offer this. It is still a newer addition, so availability is limited right now. Message your nearest outlet directly before planning your visit around it.

  • Call to confirm your branch offers it.
  • WhatsApp works too, including after hours.
  • Mention any health conditions or heat sensitivity.

06 · Questions

Hot stone massage questions

Is this the same as hot oil massage?

No, different technique entirely. Hot oil massage uses warmed oil applied by hand; this uses actual heated stones placed and worked across you alongside oil.

Can pregnant customers book this?

Mention it when you call specifically. Heat and certain positions might need adjusting depending on your situation.

Do the stones ever get too hot?

Temperature is checked before stones touch your skin, and your therapist checks in during the session too. Say something right away if it feels uncomfortably hot at any point.

Is this available at every branch?

No, only where the equipment exists. Check with your nearest outlet since it is still fairly new for us.

Why does the pacing feel different from a regular massage?

It is slower generally. Part of the treatment is stones sitting passively rather than constant movement, which can feel unusual if you are used to faster sessions.

Can I ask for a specific oil?

It depends on the branch. Some do aromatherapy blends alongside standard oil, so ask when booking to see what is available where you are going.

Heated stones, slower rhythm, real branch confirmation. Call or WhatsApp before you book.
